Welcome to Old Church C of E (C) Primary School

 Welcome from the Headteacher

It is a genuine privilege to lead Old Church CE Primary School and to be part of a community where children, families, staff and the church work together to help every child flourish.

At Old Church, children are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious Church of England school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Guided by our Christian faith, we work closely with families, our church and the wider community to provide a safe, caring and inspiring environment in which children can grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and thrive both academically and personally.

Our vision is rooted in the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:11:

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up."

These words are central to life at Old Church and reflect our commitment to creating a community built on kindness, encouragement and mutual support. We believe that when children feel valued, supported and inspired, they develop the confidence and resilience needed to succeed.

As a Church of England school, our Christian ethos underpins all that we do. Our values are brought to life through our 4Rs:

  • Respect – valuing ourselves, others and the world around us.
  • Responsibility – making positive choices and contributing to our community.
  • Relationships – building strong, caring and supportive connections.
  • Resilience – showing determination and perseverance when faced with challenges.

These values are woven throughout school life and help our children develop not only academically, but also socially, emotionally and spiritually.

We have high aspirations for every child and are committed to providing a rich, engaging and ambitious curriculum that nurtures curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. Beyond academic success, we aim to equip every child with the knowledge, skills, confidence and character they need to embrace future opportunities and make a positive contribution to society.

Old Church is a school built on strong foundations, positive relationships and a genuine sense of belonging. We are proud of our rich history, Christian heritage and strong partnerships with families, the church and the wider community. Together, we strive to provide the very best opportunities and experiences for every child, ensuring they are happy, successful and ready for the next stage of their journey.

I hope our website gives you a flavour of life at Old Church CE Primary School. Whether you are already part of our school family or are considering joining us, we would be delighted to welcome you to our school and share all that makes Old Church such a special place to learn, grow and flourish.
